Submission

Publications

Work presented at MSE 2026 can be published two ways, and the two are independent. A formatted extended abstract goes into the Book of Extended Abstracts, which is published as one volume with its own DOI. A full research article goes to the MSE 2026 Special Collection and appears in one of several Wiley journals after that journal's normal peer review.

Neither is mandatory, and submitting to one has no bearing on the other.

Special Collection

The MSE 2026 Special Collection

Authors with an accepted contribution can submit a full research article based on it to a dedicated MSE 2026 Special Collection, run together with selected Wiley journals. The collection gathers MSE-related articles from several journals in one place, so you can pick the title that fits your topic and still appear alongside the rest of the conference.

Further details on suitable journals, submission procedures and timelines go out to authors and topic organizers.

Wiley-VCH

  • Peer reviewed

Every article goes through the regular peer-review process of the journal it is submitted to.

  • Seven journals

Choose the Wiley title that suits your topic. All of them feed the same collection.

  • Grouped and visible

Articles stay linked as one virtual collection, so readers find the conference output together.

How to submit

Three things to get right at submission

  1. 01

    Submit through the journal

Pick the journal that fits your topic and submit your article through its own system, the same as any other paper.

  2. 02

    Name the conference

Mention MSE 2026 in your cover letter.

  3. 03

    Select the collection

Confirm during submission that the article is for a Special Issue, and select the name "Special Collection MSE 2026".

Dedicated issues

Two topics have their own Special Issue

Authors from these two parts of the program select a different Special Issue name at submission. Both issues are part of the Special Collection as well.
